How do you train when no one else is around?

How do you work when no one else is around? No crowded gyms, just you and your will. Simply summed up, this is your character defined.

It took me years to figure out that the shortcuts I would take in the gym, to get off easy, to go through the motions in a lazy mindset, had a wide reaching negative effect in all aspects of my life. I guess I subconsciously carried this, "Get by", mentality through my life in general.

I slowly started to discover that as I pushed myself, training alone, in the gym, those early mornings when most were sleeping, that something started to change within me. As I slowly started to hone my body, I was apparently, inadvertently priming the honing of my mind. Hard things started to become easy and I began to develop my mental fortitude. Through this process I became a student of the mind and came to the realization that I had to train, control and discipline my thoughts as well. Through this mental fortitude and reading tirelessly on the subject, I finally understood and realized, I control my thoughts, they don't control me. As Henley so prophetically stated, "I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul."

The mind>body connection is very powerful. The more you do to conquer your perceived weakness of body will translate into you conquering many aspects of your life, and possibly a new school of thought. Fitness is a very therapeutic tool to use to overcome many of life's obstacles.

So, how do you train when no one else is around? Find your strength in solitude, and your therapy through self development.
